I was loooking at a boat last night with my sister and brother in-law, the boat is for them. I have a couple questions I was wondering if somebody could help me out with.
The boat is a 1990, I'm wondering if the motor is a 1990 as well. Here is the serial #OC240001. Can one tell the year of the motor by this serial number?
Also, I'm not that familier with Mercs, always have been an OMC guy until I got into IO's. Is there any major issues with these motors, or are they pretty bomb proof? This particular one looks and runs like a milion bucks.
Is this motor a steel sleeve motor or a chrome cylinder motor?
