86 Johnson tilt and trim

I have tried to get my tilt to trim up but it will not.

I hooked a positive to the green wire on the trim motor and it goes down, but when I hook it to the blue wire it does not go up, click, it only gets very hot.

It was working fine.

any help is appreciated

you probably have a short in the field frame. the green wire is not connected, but the blue wire gets hot? then you're going to need a new trim motor.
