2000 evinrude ficht 225 trim problems

Hey Everyone! NEW to the site.. looking for some help on my brothers bass boat. He just bought it and the motor runs great. the guy he bought it from said he ways heading into the launch and was trimming motor up when he hit some waves and his trim motor quit and so did half of the gauges on the dash. Is there a fuse i'm missing besides the 7 10 amp fuses? Or anyone have any ideas on how to test the trim motor? Or how to test the solenoids?

A little more info I found out today... Motor is on a 2000 stratos 22ssextrem. There is a purple wire going to the positive battery post and a green wire going to the negative post. When I connect the purple wire the relays/solenoids in the power distribution center start clicking. Does that tell me the short is in the PDC??? or just replace relays/solenoids?
