My upper motor mounts on my 1979 70hp Mercury are busted. Motor works great, but I cant afford to put $800 into the engine to have them replaced. The mounts themselves are only $140, but it's the 5-6 hours of labor that is the expensive part.
I've had it suggested to me to try and cake on JB WELD to both the upper mounts to help make the engine secure. What are your thoughts? I'm thinking I may give it a try but I'd like some insight prior to.
