Lowrance Ellite Series Standby Mode Question

If you put a Lowrance Elite on Standby Mode, will the Anchor Alarm still sound? When camping, I want to minimize the house battery drain.

I wanted to anchor off next weekend. Nothing like jumping in with both feet.

I sent an email to CS at Lowrance. I'll keep you posted if it does.

Do it on the trailer, it will work the same.

No matter what the manufacturer says;
Stop the boat; Set an anchor alarm; Put the unit is Standby, Then throttle up and move away.
If the alarm sounds, you'll know that only the Sonar was in Standby, Not the GPS.

Unfortunately, the anchor alarm will not work in standby mode.

Now you have me 2nd guessing myself. The manual says it will turn off the screen and sonar but nothing about the GPS. I will have to try now. I usailly just leave the whole thing on when I am at anchor and just dim the display.

Yep - the manual is pretty vague..... When I anchor off in our bay, I want to do a worse case battery drain anyway to see how the group 29 house battery performs overnight.

I'll keep you posted how it goes this weekend......
