Gents,
I have a Merc 4.3 175hp that has a broken end guide on the throttle cable. The only thing broken is the end guide, the 6" long piece of plastic that attaches to the carb throttle mech. I have a replacement part 43433. My question is does the cable rely on this end guide to maintain proper length, or can I simply detach a few bolts and replace the end guide. I'm just not sure of what is happening inside this end guide.
