Hey everybody, check out this outboard motor that I just picked up today... for $27 bucks!!! It looks pretty rough at the moment, but I'm really excited to get started on this motor rebuild :D

That a cool oldie. Looks like she has a 4WD transfer case with the big red knobs. :)

Nice. I'm restoring a boat that you can test it on when done!

Sweet, but I don't think I can make it look as good as that seahorse motor jbcurt00 posted on your thread...

Nice early OB. If you need (want) any help restoring it, the AOMCI can help a great deal.

Good luck & be sure to keep us up to date on getting her polished up & running right..

Don't be so sure about how good that motor could look:

They're weird, funky looking motors too ^^^^ but look pretty good in triplicate :watermelon:

And you can look thru here for Elgins:

You may get some assistance starting a thread there too if you have any questions.

My dad had one just like it that we used over 50 years ago (olive green in color). I loved the thing - except for the "reverse"...turn the motor 180 degrees to back up. Fond memories of camping and fishing in the lakes of northern Maine.
