I have a 1998 Johnson 115hp outboard and need to know how to manually raise the motor so I can work on the power tilt/trim. I have turned the maunal release screw all the way counterclockwise, but still not able to raise the motor. Any suggestions on how to raise motor?

If it is like my '98 Johnny 150HPV6, the PTT is attached to the transom brackets with two rods. Drive out the lower one, and you will be able to lift the motor and PTT unit as one assembly. I do not think you can get to the upper rod, with the motor down, but once the motor is up, you can remove the entire PTT unit.
