Opinions / Suggestions 1990 Yamaha 55 hp?

Hello all.
I'm considering an engine switch on my 16 ft. Sea Nymph FM.
Now, it's got a 1987 Suzuki DT30 that runs OK but I'm having trouble with parts and information.
Considering a 1990 Yamaha 55 hp. Are parts still available for this motor? Were there any known issues?
My boat is rated for up to 60 hp.
Don't know much about the motor as the owner purchased it with a pontoon and must change the engine to meet HP requirements on his local lake.
I've owned Evinrude, Tohatsu and now Suzuki motors. I hear great things about the Yamaha's but don't know much about them.
I've searched the boards but can find little about the 1990 Yamaha 55.
Any opinions, suggestions, or direction to more information is appreciated.

I think I know why. I just got done pouring over 58 webpages on another Yamaha site and only one mention of this motor.
Seems it was only available between 1990 and 1995.
The one post I found mentioned that the motor always ran good but now it doesn't run. Only 1 generic response telling him to take it to a dealer (sounds familiar).
Anyways, the lack of information on this motor coupled with the fact that the nearest dealer is nearly 100 mi. away, is pushing me towards another option.
