2008 Yamaha F 50 lower unit stuck on?

The motor hit a rock and just the tip of the skeg is broken off and the prop is hardly touched.
I have taken many lower units off of my f 50's. I was wondering what would cause the lower unit to stick on. All of the bolts have been removed and it won't slide off and it seems like the front end won't slide out where the shifter is. All of my other motors have a splined shift rod and they just slide off?
Any pointers? I really don't want to pry on it to much.

Thanks

does it move at all?

if not probably corrosion

I have heard of drive shafts rusting and freezing in crank, when was it last off and greased?

I would say the lower unit has never been take off. It seems pretty tight. I can separate the back a little but the front is tight. I tried using plastic wedges to separate it. That didn't work. I am worried that I will damage the lower unit housing.
Any suggestions?

This may sound silly but have you removed the trim tab just above and behind the prop there is a bolt under it
