I have a 1990 15 hp Johnson with electric start. There must be an easy way to remove fuel pump. On this model the fuel pump is on the left side. Secret tool? Must the flywheel be removed and starter or the whole power pack removed?

Re: Fuel pump removal

On the post 87 electric start motors, they used the larger new style fuel pump mounted on the port side of the motor. You should be able to access the single mounting bracket bolt that is directly in front of the electric starter. If that does not get it out you can unbolt the two top starter motor attachment bolts, where you will have room to remove the fuel pump. Should not have to remove the flywheel.

Thanks I'll try it!
