Do I need connectors for wires or can i just connect it directly

So i am redoing my wire harness, the black connectors inbetween seem to just be clips going to same wires, they are all rotted out, not sure where else to get those replaced, can i just cut the other side and attach wires directly? Is the black clips that connect each other in wire harness...I assume this just makes it easy to replace harness....

Yes. Just make sure you use heat shrink connectors and coat them with neopreme dip.

Yes you can wire direct but make sure you use appropriate size fuses for the power lines. And if you are rewiring your boat setup, make a new schematic diagram for future usage. It will help you or whom ever has the boat at that time... I would NOT use any connector that simply squeezes (cutting and piercing) onto any wire in the middle of the line... They may work initially BUT will give you a headache down the road for absolute certain... Just use quality connections and connectors and good lead dressing...
