The starter wheel on my Mercury 150 XR6 stuck in the fly wheel position after the ignition was turned off. The starter got very hot and I had to disconnect the Negative wire. Now the negative sparks whenever I try to reconnect 7 the starter engages even with the ignition off.

Thanks, is this a task that needs a mechanic or can I do it with some clear instructions? Where is the best place to get a new solenoid?
