Default Aluminum to stainless prop questions??

Ok Prop question.I understand that the pitch is the theoretical distance that the prop would move per rotation Â… and that by changing this your WOT will change by 3-500 RPM Â… but what about diameter..I have a 13x19 aluminum prop (that has the engin running just right at WOT) but want to go to Stainless. Should I get the same size and pitch? What would happen if I went up to a 13-1/2x19 or even 14x19 stainless? Any suggestions as always are gratefully received.Dave

Diameter affects the hole shot more than anything else. Find a good stainless with approx. the same diameter and pitch you have now. You can tweak it as neccessary if need be.

If you have a good hole shot now (no noticable slippage or cavitation), then stick close to what you are using with aluminum. Knowing the motor and boat you have would make it easier to answer.
