I recently bought a boat and has a Johnson engine on it. Can someone tell me what year this engine is? And I'm not even sure if it can start up as i never tried. What can I do to it in order to start it up? I think the previous owner used a portable tank for it. Where do i hook the fuel line up too? Do these engines use the 2 pin type connectors? Any pointers in the right direction would be great! Thanks for the help

Do you have a model number. Usually you can find it on the transom bracket. The piece on the motor that bites onto the boat.

Hi grady. Looks like you have a late 60's-early70's era, 2-stroke, 6.0hp Johnson I believe. Check the transom clamp for a model and serial number. You'll need to hook up a standard, single-line fuel hose with OMC fittings using at least 50:1 mix. Here's a handy link that may be of use.
