I have a suzuki dt9.9 and I've noticed that the manual is for the dt9.9 and dt16. I know with some outboards the carb is the only thing different. Would it be the same in this case?

Both models should have same CC. Get parts manual and check if they have different carb codes, if so must swap a 16 carb.
