I am getting ready to glass in new motor mounts in my boat but I do not know the necessary height because the rot was so bad on the previous mounts that they were completely disintegrated. Can anyone give me an estimated height? I have a 2.5l 4cylinder OMC inboard/outboard engine. Thank you.

Re: 84' Sea Ray Seville Motor Mounts

I am restoring my 84' Seville right now as well and during the tare down I made measurements on EVERYTHING! Mine has the 3.0 4 banger but the mount will be the same for your boat! From the lowest point of the keel to the top of the mount you should have 6", good news is you don't have to be spot on perfect as your front motor mount on the engine allows for height adjustment which will be used when re-aligning your engine to outdrive. Just be sure to have it nice and level port to starboard. Also from bow to stern the mount should be 5 1/2" wide.

Good luck to you on your build!
