I am getting ready to repaint my aluminum V Bottom, I want to remove the old paint and start fresh. Does anyone have a recommendation of a quick, yet effective, method of removing the old paint and what would be the best choice for the new paint? Thanks
If the old paint is still Stuck to the hull,....Just sand it smooth,+ Repaint it.......You'll be saving Several Steps in the process as Aluminum is Very paint Unfriendly......

Search under "painting aluminum" on this forum you will find answers to all your questions including a great thread on the simplest way to paint over fairly sound existing paint. I used this information and got a fairly good result considering I hate to paint and it usually shows.
