I have a 2001 Mercruiser 40 hp outboard. I rebuilt carb now it won't seat, caeb floods when compressing bulb.
It will run fine after I fill bowl and disconnect fuel line. When running if I reconnect fuel line it floods out. I think I've tried
Everything. New float, needle, adj float stumped. Seat doesn't have gasket so there is nothing to do there.

Re: Mercruiser 40 carb flooding

Some outboards have replacable seats, my '77 Merc does not but many do. Man, it sure sounds like you covered most anything, and you're SURE the float level is correct I assume?

That is a Mercury, not a Mercruiser, Larry. Mercruisers are I/O only.
