Re: Propguard

Which HP would a small outboard be ? Don't waste your money unless it's a security issue when boating near beaches, next to swimmers, down issue is that will need to go 1 pitch down to compensate the loss of rpm at wot due to PG drag. Not cost effective including breaking it if hitting a hard underwater object....

Re: Propguard

Howdy,

I have a Zodiac ZOOM with a Tohatsu 9.8hp engine with the original 3blade prop. It performs very good.
Because it's almost overpowered, I could probably just leave the prop alone... The one recommended for the 9.8 4-stroke is available for $99 (+ shipping)

If engine is slightly over reving with factory delivered prop, a PG install wil decrease rpm. How much, difficult to say. A induction tach must be installed to test max rpm at wot with/without PG.
