I have a 2001 Bayliner 2452 with a 5.7- Bravo 2, 2.20 ratio. The prop is 18 x17. I use the boat in Lake Tahoe at 6,200' elevation. I can plane at 3400 rpm and get the boat up to 28mph at 4400 rpm. The boat runs smooth up to 3800 rpm but after that I start getting a vibration resonating throughout the hull. The vibration is not terrible but noticeable and no unusal noises or smells. Could this be coupler, gimbal bearing, prop? I haven't run this boat at a lower elevation yet to compare the difference. Thanks

Can it be that your prop has a dent or a chip? That was my problem.

Re: 5.7-bravo 2 high rpm vibration

Thanks, I am thinking the vibration is being caused by the prop but it appears ok with no ding or dents. I don't have a spare prop to try as Bravo 2 props are expensive. I'll recheck the torque on the nut. Maybe a new locknut will help.
