I cranked the motor today with water hose connected in driveway-The engine started fine, it was last used one month ago.-the engine started and ran for about 10 minutes at idle when my teenager hit the throttle accidently and it went wide open in neutral for about a second before he pulled the throttle back. I was expecting pistons to fly- we stopped the engine and restarted at idle for about five minutes with no issues until we heard the alarm and I noticed that is was not peeing any more water. I pulled the lower unit off the impellar has one fin cracked and almost folded over and it seems to be dry and brittle. My question would this cause the waterpump to pump no water at all out of the pee hole when connected to a water hose or a stuck thermostat-I pulled the t-stat and ran water thru the passages and they appear to be clear. I also took the thermostat and tested in hot pan of water and it open and closed when cooled off.
