Small hole in Alpha one MR Upper - what is it?

Folks,

Just finished resealing a 87 Alpha One MR upper and noticed a small hole nearly opposite the vent hole in the upper unit, about 1/16" in diameter. I've searched the forums and the web, and can't find anything on this. Is this a vent hole for the upper unit, or is this a machining fixture hole that became unplugged and needs to be sealed? It is definitely a machined hole, not a crack or a porous casting. Thanks in advance

It is in the center of the small corroded area that the arrow points to. I never noticed it before, but want to make sure I did not knock out a plug.Alpha One Hole.jpg
