I have a Mariner 20, one of the old Yamaha 20A's badged by Mariner. The power head runs fine, it starts OK and revs freely. When I engage gear, either forward or reverse and open the throttle the revs build up but then it loses power, not revs, almost as if the prop is slipping, except this is an old fashioned prop with a sheer pin and cannot slip.
