I need to get a power tilt n trim for my 1973 Evinrude 115 hp model # Model:115393M.
The boat the above motor is on, is 96 Bassmaster and already has the controls for tilt n trim from factory but this motor just has manual tilt.

This guy I know has a tilt n trim off what he says is an 70's evinrude Model # 150849, would the tilt/trim off his motor fit mine with the factory 96 bassmaster 180 SV PRO controls?

thanks in advance

i think you need a 1970's trim and tilt system from an 85-135HP engine. It is same as 1980's 50HP except with a different size of yoke. I think I remember boobie saying the yokes from 1980's engines won't fit 1970's engines.

I can't answer whether the contol wiring will match. One why to be sure would be to compere the two plugs to see if they will mate-up and fit together. Do the electrical connections to the engine match? Both Red plugs?

The plate for the tilt&trim in the only thing that i have noticed to be diff.Bolt pattern and mounting slightly diff.Years 72 -78 are compatible in hp 75-150 on unit.Only prob i see is the wiring.May have to bypass some factory installed relays.I have found it easier to hardwire my own switch (three position momentary ptmrtb center off switch) The trim gauge is diff story. The sensor on older units rely on resistance of contact inside trim cylinder.I actually used a modified amp gauge.Marked up and down on face accordingly. Just shade treeing it though. Good luck.Tilt&trim units for that era are costly and hard to find second hand working.

Yes thank you for your reply, I have already passed on that t/t that was offered to me and bought a used CMC pt-130 that I'm having a leaking problem with.
I have another thread on that matter.
Thanks
