86 120 looper,

Started for the first time, was unable to get fuel in to the primer ball originally, smoked like hell when finally going. Took her our and opened it up for a bit and seemed good. Slowed down and putzed around for about 15min and then all of a sudden I could hear a change in the motor rpm. Tried to open it up but could not get over 4k rpm (usually hit 5500)

Top end power gone. It wasn't missing. But sounded different Haven't checked anything yet, looking for ideas.

Cheers

first thing to do would be checking spark plugs

Visual inspection of the plugs is a good starting point.
Also check compression and spark while you are at it.

Thanks guys, will replace the plugs next time out. Gas was filled right to the top before storage with stabilizer and some seafoam added to tank.

Check spark on all holes. New plugs are always a good thing, but make sure that each plug is actually getting the juice it needs to spark.

Would suck to simply change plugs....... and get on the water only to find out that wasn't the problem.
