Hi Guys,

I went through my carb with the holley rebuild kit from summit that includes a new power valve. I'm having some issues at part throttle ~2000-2800. When I hit cruise around 3200 it's fine so I have some transition fueling issues. The PV in my chevelle are clearly labeled 3 on one side and 0 on the other. 3.0. The one out of this carb has an 8 2 5 and A. Take a look

Are there any numbers stamped on the edges?

My guess would be 2.5 but that one has one more number than I remember seeing. The ones I remember always had it stamped on the edge too.

What did the kit come with, how is it marked?

Seems like one set of markings on that plate was the month and year and the other set was the rating. The way the 2 and 5 are situated closer to each other makes me lean even more to the 2.5.

Some power valves had 2 stages, but they had an odd configuration on the plunger on the other side, longer I think.

Yea Maclin that's a 2.5 power valve. While holding the Holley pv upright, it's the 2 right-side numbers from top to bottom. So 2 and 5 = 2.5.

Great. Thanks Guys. The ones I deal with on my car always have a number on the far left and one on the far right. I'm going to take it out and see where I'm cruising at vac wise. I'll then order a replacement at 2.5, I have a spare 3.0 from the chevelle and I'll order whatever I get from the cruise.

What is they typical rule of thumb on the boat. 1" less than cruise? Thanks!
