A while back I posted a question asking if anyone had a clue why my very expensive MercMonitor would suddenly show only a blue screen with no text yet output all data over the NMEA network (I can see everything on my HDS 7). No replies so I finally got ahold of a Merc rep and explained the problem to him. He asked if the problem occurred while under warranty (one year) and when I checked, it was exactly 2 WEEKS out of warranty.
Solution? "Try banging on it". Seriously! I replied I was reluctant to do that since they are (@*Y$ expensive to which he replied "might as well, you have to buy a new one anyway".
So there you have it. My first and last MercMonitor will stay in it's giant hole in the dash with the white cover on until it finally dies completely. If anyone at Mercury wants to know, I am not a happy camper and wish I could delete every post where I said nice things about your 54 week VunderMonitor.
