5.0 chevy mercruiser with TBI will not idle

I have a 1999 305 chevy mercruiser, ser L619326, that will not idle properly. It has a throttle body injection system. It will start (on muffs) and run, and accelerate, but when I bring it down to idle, it may run a couple of seconds then die. It will start back with a little throttle but refuses to idle. I can see that the injectors spray patterns look ok to me, but at idle the pattern stops and of course the engine stops. I really can't which happens first. Any help or ideas are appreciated. thanks

check fuel pressure and more importantly vacuum - possible plugged fuel pick-up or vent line

when was the last full tune-up??

Check the IAC valve. It's common for those to go back and give the exact symptoms you're describing. In addition, get a mercruiser service manual for your engine. They're available for free download on a few sites. That will give you information on diagnosis and maintenace of our engine. Hy
