Hi folks, I have a 1997 Terhi big fun which is made from ABS plastic with foam in between the inner and outer layers.
I want to mount a Garmin echo 150 transducer on the transom.
Is it ok to drill 2 of 5/32in holes , 1 in deep into the lower transom of such a boat?

I dont know if the area is reinforced with wood, foam or something else under the ABS plastic.
Any experience would be appreciated.

I'd contact the mfg and ask them. You may have to drill and inject some sort of epoxy in before mounting it. I would think the transom is built with something stronger than foam.

may want to consider a suction cup mount transducer instead.
