Working on an old trailer to replace my rust bucket. Its an old calkin in fair shape. Problem is the roller shafts on it to replace are 3/4 or so and not 5/8. Can't find anything larger than 5/8. Will they work? Will it be ok if rattles around? Boats only like 1300 with motor. Any help appreciated . Maybe custom make from welder?

What is wrong with the old shafts?

Could you sleeve them with a piece of 5/8ID x 3/4OD tubing? Home depot?

If you are talking about a full roller trailer with wobble rollers they are supposed to have plastic bushings between the shafts and rollers

Am familiar with these old Culkins trailers and sad to say they did not use normal wobble rollers or keel rollers for that matter.

Ruprick if you can show these folks a couple pictures of these nice rollers.

Not at home for photo but I'll explain. The rubber roller is over a 3/4 thick steel shaft that is approx 9.5 inches. That shaft should be replaced as it is rusted up but good. Prob is only 5/8 or smaller is in the generic replacements in marine/boat stores. Need to either find specialed for 3/4 roller shafts or see about fabrication in metal shop. Drama. So close to refinishing cheap Craigslist calkin in great shape. Just any ideas where to go or such. Thanks

Go to a welding shop and buy some 3/4 diameter bar. Cut it to length yourself to avoid charges. If money is no problem, buy some 3/4 stainless bar and have them cut it to length for you..
