Installing new 5.7 engine

I am fixing to stab my fresh 350 to my omc cobra drive the boats an 89 vip valiant, the motor was blown an out when I got it my question is are there any snags and secrets to putting the motor back in and getting it mated to the outdrive

I am pretty sure the drive needs to be off, then mount the engine. Then use alignment tool to check gimbal bearing to engine coupler alignment, adjust engine mounts as needed.

If the engine mounts are in the exact same spot why would it not just set right back In the hole like stabbing a motor to a tranny

Because you should not assume the mounts and the points it mounts to on the new block are absolutely, 100% identically positioned as they were with the other block. You should always align. So simple to remove the drive as well.

K how do I remove the drive

Undo 6 Nuts on the upper portion of the drive, disconnect hydrolic rams from the drive, pull the drive off.... Simple

Dburch, make sure you buy an OMC manual, not a Seloc. There is a big difference
in content. John
