The service light came on and the oil is fine. I understand that I need an oil change but there is a single beep going off. I have tried the "reset" procedure and it did not work.

It is beeping a sequence code, kinda like morse code. You need to get a service manual, or google to find the different sequence codes, and which one your engine is identifying.
