It looks like the boat clocks in at 6K add in 1K for trailer and another 1K in fuel and people you are at 8K I would add in an extra 1K for what ever I forgot so you are at 9K to play it safe. The 6.2 should be able to do it just fine. I think the 5.3 will technicailly do it but I would go for the larger motor. I bought a 2012 silverado new did not look in to it very much. It had the 5.3 3.08 rear end and drums in the back. Make sure it had rotors and 3.73 rear end which I would imaging the 6.2 will have.
