mercury 2+2 question

I am new to forum and new to mercs . Just need to know how many poles does my 1997 mercury 115 have? Need a tach but i have heard that it may have 20 and also heard its got 12? Thanks in advance for answer. Ive read most of the posts and cant find it.

Og212942 and its the black stator just got the motor so not sure if its orginal. I put a switchbox on it from cdi if that matters.

I have a tach from an old boat i had says omc on the back with 2/3/4/5/6 setting. Would thay work. And do i need to put tach on 6? I am a newbie sorry if this is common knowledge.

Your s/n comes up as:

MERCURY - (115 H.P. (1995 ))
Serial No: 0G212942 Model No: 1115412RD

Parts List for model 1115412RD:

100/115/125 H.P. 80 JET (4 CYLINDER) - Mercury, Mercruiser, Force, etc. Parts Lookup

See your stator as item 6 under FLYWHEEL/STARTER MOTOR(USA: 0G437999/BEL: 9926999 AND BELOW

Here is a picture of it at CDI:

Mercury / Mariner Stator: 174-9710K 1

Do you have a p/n from the OMC tach you have? I suppose you could try it and yes, with the setting at 6.

Oh well i guess its a 95 . The omc tach is broke the needle/pointer broke off. And i am looking for the pm button.
I would love info on my motor .thank you so much

Nothing yet. Keep an eye on the Notifications button and when you see the number 1 included, you will know that I have sent you a message and you can respond to it.
