I am a new boat owner, this will be our second season. I had a spot where the bottom paint had rubbed off and I was under inspecting when I started to see some cracks in the bottom paint and then some chipped places where I can see what appears to be fiberglass strands. I have attached a picture. Can you tell me how bad this is? There are several spots like this and several more where I think the cracks are this deep.

There also seem to be several places where spots like this were painted over. You sure do learn a lot after buying your first boat!

This would appear to be from contamination on the glass prior to application of the primer. I would suggest a light sanding, and wipedown with acetone taking care to Not touch the surface at any time, re-apply primer and then paint.

Does it need to be done right away, before use or can I wait to do it in the offseason? Sounds like a pretty easy fix. Thanks for the reply.
