Can it be lubed?

The Yamaha throttle/shifter on my old Hurricane deckboat can be a bit difficult at times,can it be lubed? Note the small orange plug on assembly..Thanks..Jon

Rarely it's the shifter. Most of the time it's either the cables or the engine linkage.

Thanks,I will recheck those points..I'm curious,what would the orange plug be used for?
