30 hp Johnson 56 rd-18 Fuel issue

I just bought a 56 Johnson rd-18 30 hp motor did work when I bought it took it out on lake for test run ran fine . But when I got ready to start this weekend started for about a min then stopped replaced plugs also ck presurrized tank. there was a leak at the hose fitting ordered new o rings or fuel but no go I can put fuel in spark plug chamber and it will start but not stay running. I think I picked up trash from tank or carb clogged need help.

Sure does sound like a fuel delivery issue. I always like to open up, clean and rebuild the carb on any new motor I get. Change the fuel lines with modern ethanol proof ones as well if you havent done it yet.

On a side note, have you inspected the ignition? If the coils are original and cracked, they will need to be replaced. Popping the recoil, and inspection plate will let you inspect it.
