I've got a 1990 (serial # D701938) or so 5.7L closed cooling system chevy 350 that I was wondering if I should ever need to replace the manifold on? The reason I ask this is of course because its a closed (fresh water/ antifreeze) system and I was thinking that I should only need to replace the elbows.....is this a correct assumption or am I way off base here. I mainly run it in saltwater and trailer the boat/ flush with fresh water asap after fishing. Any insight is greatly appreciated......BTW it has approx. 775hrs and as far as I know, has never had either replaced.
