Hello Pros..

A quick question from a new boat owner. I took my new Stingray out today for the first time. The boat ran EXCELLENT with the exception of the depth sounder.

It would only read every once and a while and the screen would go blank and just show the letters ft with no readings or audible sounds at all at times. If I would push the reset it would make the audible alarm sound but otherwise it would not work that well at all.

I was under the impression that this depth sounder was also an engine oil low and overheat alarm as well. Could of sworn that is what the guy said that I bought it from. I can not find any literature on this device in my owners manual either. It appears to be the original.

Was told it could be the transducer as well. Where can I find that? Looked on the outdrive and I have no idea where it is. Hull mounted possibly?

I need some advice and knowledge on this type of depth sounder or can I just put a new and improved one in?

Thanks all!
Mike
