Hi all,

Thank you in advance for any advise.

We discovered the lower unit was leaking oil between the prop shaft and propeller.
It was due to get a new impeller and thought we would replace the gear case seal kit at the same time.

We pulled the lower unit off and removed the water pump and all screws/bolts, but we are now stuck with the two shafts(upper(main) and lower(propeller shaft) still in place.
I only have a parts manual and from what I can see is nothing is holding it in place.
I read online that there could be some sort of clip holding the upper shaft onto the lower and a OMC tool is required but can't find anything in detail regarding this.

If I was to remove the bearing housing, how do I as it is pretty tight, would I see this clip and would I be able to remove it ?
Or what is the best way to remove these shafts?

Many thanks in advance
Regards
