I'm moving to a new house the garage is not as deep as my current house and thus my boat will not fit. If i can install a collapsible tongue I think i can make it fit. In order to get the max distance from the collapse I would like to mount the hinge as close as possible to the post. That would mean my jack would have to be moved to inside the post (between the post and the hull of the boat). There is plenty of room, I'm just not sure there is any potential issues I might be over looking. Any thoughts or shared experience would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Trailer Jack Location

Looks like nice 16' Lowe, a nice Tinny and light weight.

Don't know what the tongue weight is but guessing 200 or less.

Pretty sure there will be no issues.

Welcome to the site.

Re: Trailer Jack Location

Thanks for the quick responses.

The picture i used was a representative sample for demonstration purposes (I forget my disclaimer!). My boat is slightly larger, Lowe Sea Nymph 175 FM, the tongue weight is still manageable. If tongue weight is my only concern, I think I will give it a shot. If it's an epic fail I'll let you guys know.

You'll be fine.
