ok folks bare with me here as I dont know a whole lot about outboards still learning. I have a late 70s johnson 25hp long shaft tiller, blew the lower unit over the weekend. My question is what lower units can I use to replace it with? I found a lower from a late 60s 18hp evinrude, dude selling it says it should work. I know a lot of the johnson and evinrude stuff is interchangable but I dont know how far that goes. do I need one from a long shaft motor or does that matter? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
