I have a 2005 bayliner 205 that i just bought. I bought it from a guy who let the block freeze and crack. I was wondering how much difference if any would it decrease the power running the 5.0 cam in the 5.7? I have the 5.7 and have all the accessories for the 5.7 but the cam. This has a 2 barrel carb and intake. Also, does anyone know the horse power of a stock 5.7? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

350sbc can range in power from the old 172 hp in my 1973 C-20 to something in the neighborhood in a current sbc of 290hp stock. I wouldn't suggest putting a 305 cam in a 350. You'll be much better off spending $150 for a new 350 cam. First thing to remember is the lifters (unless you replace them too) will be worn in on the cam in the 350 not the 305. Just not worth it!

Using that cam will be your second mistake.
