Power tilt /trim ?

Ok guys I have a leaky tilt piston /ram . #448545-2 on an 1987 85 Force ptt . Can I just change the O-rings to fix or are there other parts that are needed .

if you have galvanic corrosion then you may not be able to get it apart in order to install the orings. assuming that you can get it apart then you can rebuild the rams while they are on the boat for about $25, a good spanner wrench, and 2-4 hours of your time. check ebay for parts. mercury no longer sells everything that you need.

Thanks for the link BFC ! It sure looks like mine . I am getting ready to break the o/b down and repaint . It,s getting switched to a different boat . I guess I need to go get a spanner wrench . Are there any other special tools need for this job ?

I just did the tilt cylinder. Only needed the spanner.
