Drained the outdrive today and had some brown streaks in the fluid.

First, how the fluid came out. At first it was perfectly clear as I would expect. Then the brown streak started and continued to the end. No signs of water in the fluid at all.

Changed at the start of last year and had not been run this year prior to draining it. Boat stored in climate controlled environment so freezing a non issue.

Fluid was volvo penta 75w-90 synthetic.

450 hours on the drive.

VP DP-SM drive.

If I left out any critical information, let me know.

I'm thinking something else fell into the fluid. Grease, sealant, something since there was zero milkiness and there was no water out first when it sat for the last 6 months.

Thoughts?

Dirty oil, that is why you change the oil yearly. Not a problem.
