Steering cable rusted solid in my steering tube

Ok I have a 84 Johnson J75TLCRD and my steering cable is rusted solid in the steering tube I have remove all bolts on the tube tomorrow I am going to try a slide hammer but don't want to mushroom the tip also at this point I think it would be better the replace the steering tube along with steering cable also the black casing is 10'8'' so my new Rotary Steering kit should be 11 feet and where can I get a new steering tube or am I going to have to pull the motor and have one made at a machine shop il try to get a pic up soon tks 4 any help

Ps I used 2 cans of pb blaster and a big rubber hammer

Put a pipe wrench on the end of the cable and rock it front to back. If you can move it, it will eventually loosen up with penetrating oil and rags. Lubricate and rock it then wipe it. Keep at it and you will get it. Second choice is to heat it with propane torch. Careful not to set the motor on fire.

If you decide to heat it, get some Mapp gas as it gets hotter. I've also had to use an Oxy/Acy torch on them with great caution but it worked.
