How much Horsepower...

Can a Alpha 1 Gen II handle? I am about to pick up a 94 Cobalt 200 5.7 270hp and an Alpha 1 Gen II drive. I am thinking about giving the engine a little more punch, but don't want to over power the drive.

300 is the general spec....switching to a bravo is very big money...Easy on the launch throttle and keeping the drive in the water (think airborne) will help some...I currently have a 454 behind a alpha...it live's...one day at a time...:whistle:

Thank you for the reply! That's the info I was looking for. I'm not planning a crazy high HP engine, just a few parts to make the engine it has more efficient and maybe kick it up 30-40 hp.
