Gear oil resevior

I just changed the gear oil on my 88 Rinker 4.3L Merc . Drained it, filled it from the bottom up til it came it out the vent hole. Replaced the vent hole cap and gave it a couple extra pumps. I don't seem to have the square res bottle like everyone else is stating. Is this possible? IF so, do I assume it is full ?

Whats a res bottle?
If you have some coming out the top vent its full on all motors ive worked on...

You should let a little out to allow for expansion.Not block vent and pump more in.Seals may be under too much pressure.

You have a Mercruiser I/O, Not a Mercury outboard. Post your question the Mercruiser forum.
