Anyone find a cheap subsitute for plywood that won't rot (like starboard, but cheap)

Hey everyone,

I want to make some new cushions for a project boat that I took on. I don't want to use marine plywood, I want something plastic-like that won't rot, like starboard. But, starboard is expensive. I know that home building products have improved and now you can buy various sidings or planks like they use on docks these days that won't weather like wood does.

Has anyone found a product that they can use for cusions, hatches, flooring, etc., that is more weather proof than plywood, but cheaper than starboard?

Just wondering if anyone has had the same thoughts.

Nope, but...1/2" ext Grade plywood Prepped, primed and painted with 3 coats of Rustoleum Oil Based paint used for seat bases and backs will last longer than you'll own the boat. (2-3 decades) with minimal upkeep. JMHO:joyous:
